Ceiling Fan Installation and Repair in Dallas
New fans, replacement fans and fan repairs from licensed electricians serving Dallas, Crandall and the DFW metroplex for 15+ years.
Ceiling Fans Installed on the Right Box and Circuit
A to Z Electric installs and repairs ceiling fans for homes in Dallas and across DFW. We replace old fans, swap a light fixture for a fan, add a fan where there was none, and hang fans on tall and vaulted ceilings. Before any fan goes up, we make sure the ceiling box is rated to support it.
Many fan problems come from the mounting and wiring rather than the fan itself. A fan hung on a light-only box can loosen and wobble, and an older switch setup may not let you run the fan and the light separately. We fix both while we are there.
You get the price before any work begins, and all workmanship is covered by our lifetime warranty.

Who Calls Us for Ceiling Fans
- Homeowners adding fans to bedrooms and living rooms. Moving air lets the air conditioner work less hard in a Texas summer.
- Anyone replacing a light with a fan. The box behind that light was probably not built to hold a fan.
- Homes with tall or vaulted ceilings. Ladders, downrods and balancing on a high ceiling are easier with the right equipment.
- Patios and covered porches. Outdoor fans need a damp or wet rated fan and GFCI protection. See outdoor lighting installation for patio lighting too.
- Owners of a fan that stopped working. A dead or wobbling fan is often a loose connection, a failed capacitor or switch, or a loose mount.
How a Ceiling Fan Installation Works

Ceiling Fan Questions
Can a ceiling fan go where a light fixture is now?
Usually, yes. The existing box often is not rated to support a fan, so we replace it with a fan-rated box and brace before hanging the fan.
Can you install a fan on a very high ceiling?
Yes. We install fans and fixtures on tall ceilings and make sure the box is rated to support a fan before hanging it.
Can I control the fan and the light separately?
Often, yes. It depends on the wiring already between the switch and the ceiling. Where it is not there, a wall control or remote can split the two, or we can run new wiring.
Why does my ceiling fan wobble?
Wobble usually comes from a loose mount, a box that is not fan-rated, or blades that are out of balance. A loose fan should be looked at, not just tightened.
How much does ceiling fan installation cost?
It depends on whether the box and wiring are already in place, the ceiling height, the controls you want and how many fans you are installing. We quote before any work begins. Our ceiling fan installation cost guide explains each factor.
